Competencies
When you have created a curriculum and want to anaylze certain aspects of it, open the left side bar (by clicking on 
)
Here, the uppermost option is to analyze the competencies. You can expand the compentency analysis menu by clicking the 
button.
By default, the standard ETH Competence Framework is visible. You may expand each competency area by clicking on the drop-down arrows.
Each competence area can be selected or individual competencies within each area.
If you have a customized competency set (see Customized competencies), you will see the customized set instead of the standard ETH Competence Framework.
IMPORTANT: The competencies that are assigned to a course via eDoz are automatically imported to CIT. Custom competencies have to be manually mapped to a course! (see Custom competencies for more info).
Competency visualization
You can select as many competencies to be visualized as you like. The more competencies are selected, the smaller the area in the course box that is allocated to each competence.
When. e.g. the 4C competencies (Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity) are selected
the resulting curriculum view might look like this:
The standard ETH qualifiers for a competence (fostered, assessed) are visualized by either a single black bar (fostered) or two black bars (assessed):
There are a few options to clean up the view when analyzing competencies in your curriculum. You find the buttons underneath the competency selection area.
You can
- grey out courses that have no competency information entered
, - show the number of competencies entered for a course
, - hide all courses that don't have (at least one of) the selected competencies entered

Hiding courses that don't have any competency information
If courses don't show a competency to be fostered or assessed a reason might be that it just doesn't foster or assess this competency. Another reason might be that there is simply no information entered through eDoz. To help reduce this bias, you have the option to grey out courses that don't have any competency information at all.

Showing the number of competencies of all courses
In order to gain an overview of the "data quality" of competencies entered for all the courses in your assembled curriculum, you can visualize this information and the number of entered competencies is shown in a little color-coded blob attached to each course. Courses with no (0) or (almost) all (18-20) competencies fostered or assessed are marked red. all others green.

Hiding courses without competency assignment
If a number of competencies is selected for visualization, you can select to hide all courses that do not foster at least one of those selected competencies. If you select e.g. a single competency, then this option will yield a view of all possible courses where the selected competency is fostered or assessed. This can help to visualize competency development pathways.
