Customizing competencies
In addition to the 20 competencies defined in the ETH Competence Framework, custom competencies, in particular subject-specific competencies, can be defined.
To define these, navigate to "Competencies" 
in the top menu bar.

The default view when navigating to the competencies menu looks like this
Standard competence set
Initially, only the standard ETH Competence Framework with its four competence areas is shown. At the bottom of the page, the competence dimensions are shown. Currently, only the standard set from the ETH Competence Framework (fostered, assessed) is offered. The standard competence set is the default set and already in use. The subject-specific competencies are only braodly defined as "Concepts and Theories" and "Techniques and Technologies".
New competence set
Every degree programme has its own subject-specific set of competencies. If you would like to add these to the existing competence set, click on "New Competence Set" 
. Before clicking, make sure to select the appropriate project in the project assignment menu on the left side

Please not that only one custom competence set can be assigned to each project!
Once the pop up window opens, fill in all relevant information.
- Name [DE] (Required): Enter the name of the competence set in German
- Name [EN] (Required): Enter the name of the competence set in English
- Descriptions are optional.
Navigate to the competence domain where you want to add custom competencies, one by one.
E. g. for the subject-specific competencies, it looks like this:
You may now add individual competencies by clicking the "Add Competence" button

A pop up window open to specify the information on the new competence.
Fill in the required information:
- Name [DE] (Required): Enter the name of the competence in German
- Name [EN] (Required): Enter the name of the competence in English
- Descriptions are optional.
- Select a color by clicking the color selection button

Do not forget to save the information on the new competencies by clicking "Save"
