Student workload
To visualize the student workload for the courses in an assembled curriculum, navigate to the last menu item of the left info bar "Student workload".

To activate the student workload visualization, click the 
button.
All the courses in the curriculum no show a little "traffic light". The display of color on that traffic light is based on the workload data compared to the planning value of 30h per ECTS.
The student workload is calculated by adding three parts:
- The fixed workload: The contact hours of a course unit. Calculated by number of semester weeks times weekly semester hours.
- The free workload: The amount of time students spend for the course outside the contact hours. Data taken from the course evaluation.
- The exam workload: The amount of time students spend preparing for the course exams. Data taken from the exam evaluation.
Several options are possible:
: No student workload data available for this course unit.
: The student workload is within 10 % of the planning value.
: The student workload is between 10 - 20 % higher than the planning value.
: The student workload is more than 20 % above the planning value.
: The student workload data is incomplete. Data needs to be scrutinized.
IMPORTANT: The workload data is puzzled together from multiple different course cohorts over the years. Please be aware that the "error bars" for this data are fairly large. Be careful with interpretation of data. We recommend to look at data comparatively in the context of one curriculum
When hovering with the mouse over a traffic light of a course, a detailed break down of the workload parts is shown (fixed/free/exam):
The detailed source of the student workload data can be looked up when clicking on a course unit and navigate to the "workload" tab in the course menu:
Clicking on "workload" will display the data source along with the number of answers from the exam evaluations:
