CIT Structure
When logging in for the first time, your start screen will show (more or less) this:
Top menu bar
At the top, you find the menu bar, showing you the three main menus:
Project portfolio (default view)
The project portfolio view is the default view when logging in to the CIT. You see an overview of all the projects that you have created yourself or were added to by other CIT users.
Course units
In the course units menu, you find all the courses that are stored in the CIT database. The courses you see here are copied from the ETH database.
Important: When working with CIT, no information is written to the ETH database. The interface between the ETH database and CIT is one-way!
Once every semester, the course information is updated (overwritten) for all regular ETH courses (defined by its unique course number XXX-XXXX-XX). All current course information from the course catalogue is updated, including the course competencies.
Important: Course copies created within CIT are not overwritten and are maintained manually.
- Competencies
> In the competencies menu, the competencies from the ETH Competence Framework can be found. Custom competencies can be defined here and added to a custom competence set.
Info bar
On the left side, you find the info bar. By default it is collapsed but can be expanded by clicking on 
.
Depending on what you are doing in CIT, various types of information or menus are displayed in the side bar menu. When working with curricula, minimized versions of the controls are visible in the info bar.
Profile settings
In the top right corner, you find the profile settings. You may edit your profile information there and change your password. Also, you can log out of the tool.
To edit your profile information, click on the button with your initials on it in the top right corner of the screen 
You can then edit your profile information in the pop-up window:
Click 
to save the information.
Language settings
Also in the top right corner, you find the button for the language settings.
Click on 
to open the language selection drop down.
You may select between German and English.
! Please note that the language settings determine the language of the tool itself as well as the names of the courses in the course unit menu !
